Snowdonia National Park

Snowdonia National Park is a living working area, home to over 26,000 people. As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in England and Wales, Snowdon at 3,560ft, where you can visit by foot or train, and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as picturesque villages like Betws y Coed and Beddgelert. The coastline of the Llyn Peninsula with it's sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and glorious estuaries also forms part of the park.

Portmeirion Village and Gardens

Portmeirion is located on a peninsula, just south east of the town of Porthmadog. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village and is now owned by a charitable trust. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis wanted to pay tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean. With it's colourful shops, restaurants, gardens, beaches and surrounding 70 acres of exotic woodland, with miles of woodland and coastal walks, it is one of Wales' premier visitor attractions.

Sygun Copper Mine

Sygun Copper Mine is a Victorian copper mine that was closed in 1903. It was renovated and reopened by the Amies family as a tourist attraction in 1986, focusing on audio-visual tours of the underground workings. There are winding tunnels and large, colourful chambers, magnificent stalactite and stalagmite formations and copper ore veins which contain traces of gold, silver and other precious metals. Awarded the Prince of Wales award for tourism in 1988, it has been completely refurbished.

Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Llechwedd Slate Caverns is part of a living, working slate mine still being worked to this day by Greaves Welsh Slate - since 1836. Combine history and adventure to make a great day out for the whole family at Llechwedd Slate Caverns. It is home to the world famous underground tour right in the heart of Snowdonia. Situated near the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Llechwedd Slate Caverns is only half an hour away from Porthmadog and you can get there on the Ffestiniog Railway then a short connecting bus ride.

Bodnant Garden

Bodnant Garden occupies an area of 32 hectares (80 acre) surrounding Bodnant House and is a National Trust property near Tal-y-Cafn, in the county borough of Conwy, Wales. Bodnant Garden is situated above the River Conwy and overlooks the Conwy valley towards the Carneddau range of mountains. Marvel at plants from all over the world grown from seed and cuttings collected over a century ago on plant-hunting expeditions.
